WHO IS JESSICA WHITAKER

I’ve been a photographer for more than 8 years, in addition to running the non-profit Build + Bloom (you may have heard of our Facebook group). I went full time in my photography business after moving to NYC. Despite my fears of an oversaturated market, I took my calculated leap of faith and launched full time in 2017… Booking consistent clients ever since.

With an online community of more than 300k photographers, I’ve made it my goal to educate photographers on how they can build a sustainable photography business right in their own backyard - without stressing, scouring for clients, or losing their sanity and precious time. 

I show photographers of all skill levels how to make the most with what time they have available.

This workshop has been years in the making, and I’m so excited to walk you through real-world, practical tips that can take you from a hobbyist photographer to booking consistently. Regardless if you want that full-time photography business, you can make a full-time paycheck from photography even as a hobbyist, and I’ll show you how!

All you need is to have a basic understanding of photography and how your camera works, as well as the basics of adobe lightroom and Instagram. Outside of this, any skill level is compatible with my program.

Yes! However, the Business Basics chapter won't apply to you; everything else is applicable. If you are outside the US I recommend going through the lesson plan above to determine what applies to your specific country.

This workshop will outline different options and my experience. This section is intended for students to gain general information to help determine what may be the best fit for their business. I always advise people to take this information and consult with legal/financial representation for all the specifics.

This workshop is for photographers starting from scratch with their business but who know how to operate their camera and edit but want to start the business end. The workshop is also for people who already have a basic website created, portfolio and a few clients and are ready to scale and restructure their existing business.
